Exciting new sire groups are for sale this spring!

            After selling bulls by private treaty on the farm for over 60 years, Josephson Angus is consigning a group of bulls to the Class A! Angus Bull Sale in Bismarck in 2011.  A highlight this year will be brothers to ABS herd sire Josephson Imprint J015. Also selling this year will be a top selection of yearling and two-year-old Angus bulls.  Featured sire groups are sons of Connealy Impression, H A Image Maker, S A V Bismarck 5682, Sydgen Mandate 6079, and Sydgen C C & 7.  These are highly proven breed leading sires.  Click here to view the bull sale photo lineup.

            When choosing herd sires, I selected for big rib eyes, big testicles, and big numbers to complement our high marbling cow herd!  Convenience traits such as good disposition and sound udders have been selected for over the years. These are traits important to the commercial cattleman and are combined with structural soundness and eye appeal. We also have a nice set of calving ease bulls by our own herd sires, Josephson Objective J837 and Josephson In Focus J831.  Call us to come and look.             The herd location for the Josephson Angus herd is Rost Farms at Ivanhoe, MN.  I would like to thank Merle, Clyde, and Tom Rost for the excellent job they do with the cattle.  The bulls are being fed a high roughage diet to ensure sound feet and legs.  The bulls will be weighed for yearling weight, ultrasounded for carcass traits and semen tested.  We are looking forward to this year's ultrasound data after several generations of selection for top carcass genetics.

            The strength of our program lies in our cow herd with over 60 years of selection for problem-free Angus cattle.  Josephson Angus was given “Historic Angus Herd” designation by the American Angus Association.  You can buy with confidence bulls from breed leading sires, with their genetic base grounded in our productive cow herd.

            We reserve the right to retain a one-third revenue sharing semen interest in all bulls.
